He lay back and rested the gun on his chest, feeling the cool metal grow warm against his skin. He put his hand over it, holding it like something precious. Every gun had a story, dangerous and thrilling like those young men who came through his bedroom door. He wondered if he was still a crack shot. He wondered if he could still make them yell.

He closed his eyes and felt comfort and reassurance for the first time in ages, radiating from a warm metal weight tucked between his hand and heart.

He fell asleep. And he dreamed.

The dream was lucid, vivid with detail. He opened his eyes and the lamp next to the bed was still on, casting muted light over the blanket. There was also a man standing next to the bed: a gorgeous, naked man.

He was just Tyler’s type. Mid-twenties, tall with long limbs, smooth skin nearly hairless and the color of cinnamon cream. He was slender but not scrawny, his legs and thighs thick with muscle, his chest broad and stomach tight and flat. His obliques sloped down to a thick, limp cock, hanging heavy with promise. His face was beautiful, too: plump, pale pink lips, shimmering eyes, high, sculpted cheekbones, and a wild tangle of curly ginger hair.

“Hello there,” Tyler said. “How did you get in here?”

The man didn’t answer. He reached down, gripped the blanket, and pulled it off Tyler’s body. Then he crawled on top, warm and smelling like expensive cologne and settled over Tyler’s hips, his sleek thighs enclosing them.

Tyler was naked in the dream, but he wasn’t self-conscious of the scars on his legs or the swell of his expanding belly. That was nice.

“You are gorgeous,” Tyler murmured. He caressed the man’s chest; his skin was like silk underneath Tyler’s hands. He circled one of the dark nipples with his thumb and teased the bud into a hard peak.

“I think you should stay here tonight,” Tyler said, pulling up one of the old, smooth lines he used to employ. “I’ll take good care of you.”

The man bent over him until their chests pressed together and their mouths were inches apart. Tyler slid a hand up into the man’s hair, felt his soft red curls slip between his fingers.

“Where did you come from?” Tyler asked. The man’s face was so close to his that he could make out the translucent opal green eyes, nearly otherworldly. Leave it to his mind to make his dream lover look like an angel.

The man kissed him. His lips were firm, wet and hot, and parted easily for Tyler’s tongue. The inside of his mouth tasted sweet. The heat and weight of his body made Tyler’s skin tingle. He was getting hard, an erection like he hadn’t experienced in so long.
